Transport

There are a number of different transport options for getting to and from Melbourne Campus.

If you've checked out your available sustainable transport options but have chosen to drive, see our parking information below.

Staff parking

Some staff parking is available on the Melbourne Campus in the rear car park.

To assist staff with parking, the university has established an arrangement where staff may elect to have the cost of parking deducted from their fortnightly salary before tax. The university is able to provide this benefit to staff without incurring Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).

Please refer to Payroll for charging and FBT conditions and arrangements.

Click here for the Pre-Tax Parking Policy (MS Word Document, 38KB).

Please note: There are a number of allocated bays in the front car park for staff, contractors, visitors and disabled. The staff parking is allocated under the same system as the rear car park with the exception that the bays are permanent.

General parking

Parking is available in the multi-storey car park at the rear of 115 Victoria Parade during semester time.

The carpark is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday from 7:00am - 9:00pm and Saturday/Sunday from 8:00am - 6:00pm.

The charge is a maximum of $15.00 per day (after four hours). This is payable via a ticket machine.

Limited street parking is available close to the university, but these areas are heavily patrolled, so stick to the time limit or expect a ticket!

Disabled parking

There are two disabled parking spaces available in the front car park. Please contact Campus Concierge on (07) 3623 7272 if you would like to discuss disabled parking requirements.

Visitor parking

You can book parking for visitors attending the campus on university business through the Service Central portal at https://acu.service-now.com/service_central, using the Visitor Car Parking link in Related Services.

Visitor parking is not available for staff, students, or contractors, and must be booked with at least 2 working days notice.

Train

The nearby Parliament Train Station is serviced by 14 lines and is on the City Loop – so there are frequent services all day to stations on those 14 lines, and to Flinders St Station.

The walk from the station to the campus is only 600m (about a 10 minute walk) on good, well-lit paths.

Bus

Twenty bus services stop within 450 metres of the Melbourne Campus.

We recommend that you use the PTV Journey Planner to find the best bus service for you.

Seven tram services stop within easy walking distance of the campus:

  • Route 11: West Preston – Victoria Harbour Docklands
  • Route 12: Victoria Gardens – St Kilda Fitzroy Street
  • Route 24: North Balwyn – City
  • Route 30: St Vincent’s Plaza – New Quay, Docklands
