Community engagement is one of the ways ACU lives out its Mission as a Catholic university. The Community Engagement Activity Survey was initiated based on the Vice-Chancellor’s project in 2015.
The survey is now conducted annually and aims to capture the scale, diversity and type of community engagement activities undertaken by ACU staff. Results from this survey are tracked and reported to the Senate.
The project is led by Chair of Academic Board and Director of Identity and Mission, with the OPSM supporting its survey administration and advice from the Institute for Advancing Community Engagement.
For the purpose of this survey, community engagement is defined as:
A process through which ACU draws on the capabilities of its staff to work collaboratively with individuals, community groups and organisations to achieve mutually agreed goals that build capacity, improve wellbeing, and produce just and sustainable outcomes in the interests of people, communities, and the University.
