ACU DataHub

The DataHub provides a central collection of ACU data from multiple sources within the university, accessible through a single access point. This platform is developed and housed in the latest Microsoft technology and positioned to deliver insights to ACU staff well into the future.

ACU staff can access data in the DataHub using Microsoft Power BI, an industry leading tool in visualising data in the form of dashboards and reports, and Microsoft Excel. Staff who interact with the organisation’s data either for reporting or to inform their decisions, now have access to real-time reporting with more accurate trend analysis, metrics monitoring and improved business solutions. The DataHub offers interactive and customised reports on any device at any time. This versatility extends to the enablement of data exports to PDF, PowerPoint or Excel.

The DataHub is constantly evolving with content, so if you would like to see a customised dashboard or report for your respective department/unit, please get in touch with OPSM via Service Central. ACU Data Strategy

The ACU Data Strategy aims to leverage our information and data to create opportunity, innovation and excellence.

ACU will deliver improved outcomes for students, staff and other stakeholders and gain significant commercial and operational benefits by better leveraging information and data to better understand the operation of the university, its students, staff and stakeholders. Information access and analytics can speed-up decision-making, improve corporate governance, create new opportunities, efficiencies and insights and assist in assuring quality.

Analytics Reports and Institutional Research

OPSM provides analytical reporting, institutional research, admissions modelling and load planning to support management decision-making and performance reporting. A wide range of data and reports are available in the ACU DataHub and the OPSM SharePoint Site.

Enrolment Planning

The Enrolment Plan is a key management tool for the University's future student load aligned with ACU’s Strategic Plan and the federal government policy direction. The Enrolment Plan reflects the anticipated demand (or shift in demand and growth) of courses that are to be offered or withdrawn over a six-year period.

The Provost has the overall responsibility for enrolment management and planning, assisted by OPSM for the technical development of the plan. The enrolment planning process starts from June and signed off by September every year.

Government Reporting

OPSM assists the University meets its reporting requirements as part of the Higher Education Support Act (HESA), including student and staff data submissions, provisions of estimates for funding purposes and the verification of data for statistical reporting and publication. A wide range of data and reports are available in the ACU DataHub and the OPSM SharePoint Site.

Student Surveys (QILT)

ACU conducts and participates in a number of surveys throughout the year that involve staff, students and external stakeholders. OPSM collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to administer and report on the University-wide surveys including:

  • Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT)
    • Student Experience Survey (SES)
    • Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS)
    • Graduate Outcomes Survey – Longitudinal (GOS-L)
  • Student Barometer Survey
  • ACU Community Engagement Activity Survey
  • Student Evaluation of Learning and Teaching (SELT)

ACU Survey Governance Framework

ACU is committed to continuous review and improvement, and as part of this, the University engage in a number of student surveys to gather feedback around learning and teaching, university experience and infrastructure. The Survey Governance Framework is designed to minimise the risks of over-surveying students and to promote a clear and transparent methodology for the governance of student surveys.

The framework applies to surveys that are targeted at current ACU students. Surveys of prospective students, graduates or alumni are outside the scope of this framework. Approval must be granted for all surveys targeted at ACU students before they are conducted. This requirement is in addition to the approval required by the Human Research Ethics Committee.
