As previously advised, the University has reached agreement on a new Staff Enterprise Agreement through negotiations with representatives from the NTEU and the CPSU. Both unions have now endorsed the Agreement. The proposed Australian Catholic University Staff Enterprise Agreement 2013-2017 and explanatory resources are now available to all staff via the Enterprise Bargaining sharepoint site.
The proposed ACU Staff Enterprise Agreement 2013-2017 covers the working conditions and provisions for all Academic staff employed at Levels A to E, as well as all Professional Staff employed at HEW levels 1 to 9.
Below is a summary of the next steps in progressing the proposed Agreement. Access Period: 1-11 February 2014
During the 10-day Access Period, ACU staff can view the ACU Staff Enterprise Agreement 2013-2017 and explanatory documents via the sharepoint site.
Staff may ask any questions during the Access Period to better understand the Agreement. Please send your questions to the Enterprise Bargaining email address email@example.com. The Access Period is a Fair Work requirement. Video presentation

The Access Period is immediately followed by a staff ballot.
The staff ballot will enable all ACU staff members covered by the Agreement to vote and indicate their approval or disapproval of the proposed ACU Staff Enterprise Agreement 2013-2017. An electronic ballot on the proposed Agreement will be undertaken between 12 and 14 February 2014.
The following staff members are eligible to vote in the ballot and will receive information on how to vote and a link to the ballot website via email. (a) All Academic staff employed at Levels A to E and all sessional academic and casual academic staff members; and (b) All Professional Staff (casual, fixed term and ongoing) employed at HEW levels 1 to 9.
Please note that the following staff members are not covered by the proposed ACU Staff Enterprise Agreement 2013-2017, and thus will not be eligible to vote in the ballot: (a) Teachers who work in Centres (eg. ELICOS Teachers); (b) Senior Staff Members (eg. Directors and Executive Deans); (c) Religious appointments; and (d) Conjoint appointments.
Results of the Ballot On 17 February 2014, all ACU staff will be notified of the results of the ballot. The results will determine the next steps in progressing the ACU Staff Enterprise Agreement 2013-2017.
