ACU teaching awards overview

The vice-chancellor’s teaching excellence award and the vice-chancellor’s postgraduate teaching award (part of the ACU postgraduate strategy) give recognition to teachers (individuals and teams) renowned for their excellent teaching and their deep contribution to enhancing the quality of learning and teaching in higher education. Both awards are open to either full-time or part-time academic staff with at least five years of service in the university.

ACU citations for outstanding contributions to student learning are designed to recognise and reward staff who have made a significant contribution to student learning at the university. ACU citations now includes three new categories.

Faculty endorsement: faculties will be invited to endorse teaching staff prior to the award selection process. Suitable applicants will have strong SELT results over several years, a level of leadership in teaching, a track record in scholarly practice/innovation in teaching (eg publications, committee leadership, projects) and endorsement from the senior staff in the faculty. It is preferable if applicants have institutional or external recognition of teaching excellence. They will be able to receive support from LTC as they prepare their award application.
