While blended learning presents exciting opportunities, communication can have its challenges as fewer face-to-face opportunities exist. We must also recognise that communicating digitally can have limitations in facilitating interpersonal communication. As such, academics may need to be more deliberate and strategic in their communication with students. Some features are:

  • Accessibility and flexibility for learners ‘anywhere, anytime learning’
  • Digital literacy, an essential skill in the 21st century
  • Student-focused approaches that increase depth of learning and engagement
  • Best use of face-to-face opportunities
  • ACU competitiveness in the higher education sector.
