The Page resource enables you to add a single page of content accessible via a link in your LEO unit.

The content of a page is very customisable and may be useful for adding learning materials or other unit information. Using the Page resource you can add your own content such as text, images, links to both internal and external resources, as well as embedded videos from Echo360 or YouTube.

Using the LEO Text Editor, page content may be formatted using headings, common text styles such as bold and italic, lists, tables and much more.

How to add a Page to your LEO unitPages tool in the activity chooser

  1. Navigate to your unit in LEO.
  2. Click the Turn editing on button.
  3. In the section of your LEO unit where you want to add a page, click the Add an activity or resource link.
  4. From the tools available, click the Page resource.
  5. Under the General settings section, enter a name for your new page. This name will be displayed as a link in your unit.
  6. Under the Content settings section, use the text editor to add your page content.
  7. Click the Save and return to unit button to finish.

You should now see a link to your page resource in your unit. Users may now click this link to view the contents of the page.

Important note: When adding content to your page, ensure you add your content into the Page content field under the Content section of the settings, not into the Description field under General section. These two fields may appear similar in the page settings.

To learn about other settings relevant to the page resource, please see the Other page settings section below.

Page description

Under the General settings section, below the page name, you can add some content to the Description field and check the Display description on unit page box to display this description with the link in the unit. For example:

Display setting

The default Display option under the Appearance settings section is "Open", meaning that this page will open in the browser just like any normal web page.

Although it is not recommended, you may change this to "In pop-up" to make the page open in a pop-up window instead. Choosing the pop-up setting will make two additional settings appear:

  • Pop-up width (in pixels) - enter the desired width of the pop-up window.
  • Pop-up height (in pixels) - enter the desired height of the pop-up window.

Important note: some browsers and mobile devices may override or ignore the width and height you set. In some cases, pop-up windows may be blocked completely. For these reasons we recommend using the default "Open" option for the display setting.

Other display settings

  • Display page name - checking this box will show the page Name on page itself (recommended).
  • Display page description - checking this box will show the page Description on the page itself (generally not recommended).
  • Display last modified date - checking this box will show the date the page was last edited at the bottom of the page content (recommended).
