  1. From the LEO Homepage, click the 'Create new or copy unit' link in the 'Unit creation' block. This block is at the bottom of the right-hand column.

    1. Leave the 'Create a new unit' option checked

    2. Select your Faculty (you can only choose the faculties that you are an editing lecturer for)

    3. Click 'Choose' next to the type of template you would like to base the unit on.

select create a new unit then choose a template
  2. Click 'No' when asked, 'Will this unit be based on a unit in Banner?'

    select no for Banner unit
  3. Type in a sensible 'Full name' and 'Short name' for your unit. Note: The 'Short name' must be unique in LEO. No two units can have the same short name. Try adding your name and perhaps a date in the short name if it is to be a sandbox unit.

unit full name and short name dialog box
  4. Click the 'Create' button. Wait. Creating a new unit can take a few minutes.

  5. Once the unit is created you will be taken to the 'Edit unit settings' page. See more information in LEO Guides: Unit settings. If you are happy with the unit settings, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Save and display' button.
