The 2015 Student leadership team has been announced following the recent student elections.
2015 Student Leadership Team Announcement
I would like to congratulate the new 2015 ACU Student Leadership Team, following the recent student elections.
Dylan Ettridge, Student Member of Senate in 2014, has been re-elected to the position for 2015. Dylan is a second year Bachelor of Media Communication student. He aims to focus on Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) initiatives, student scholarships, and opportunities for students and student leaders nationally.
Postgraduate Student Association (PGSA)
Ruth Dunnicliff-Hagan has been elected unopposed to the position of National President of the ACUPGA. Ruth is a Master of Philosophy/HDR student in the Faculty of Education and Arts on the Canberra campus. Ruth has previously completed her Master of Arts (Theology) at ACU, a Graduate Diploma of Education at Newcastle University and a Master of Science at the Australian National University. Ruth has been a member of the ACUPGA Executive Committee in Canberra since 2013.
Maria Rosario Doldo has been elected unopposed to the position of National Vice-President. Maria is a Master of Business Administration/Master of Professional Accounting student on North Sydney campus. Maria completed her Bachelor of Business at ACU and has been on the ACUPGA Executive committee in Sydney in 2014.
Ballarat (Aquinas) Student Association
Aaron McGregor was elected unopposed to the position of President of the Ballarat (Aquinas) Student Association for 2015. Aaron is a first year Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Paramedicine student. He aims to introduce more opportunities for student involvement and address any local student issues and concerns on the campus.
Vice-President will be Tylon Vardy. Tylon is a first year Bachelor of Nursing student who would like to use his role to contribute to the wellbeing and continued prosperity of the student populace on campus.
Lyndal Watson will be Secretary for 2015. Lyndal is a third year Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Paramedicine student. She is keen to advocate for others in the cohort and enjoys implementing suggested changes on behalf of others.
Brisbane (McAuley) Student Association (McASA)
Ashleigh Morgan was elected unopposed to the position of 2015 President for Brisbane (McAuley) Student Association. Ashleigh is a second year Bachelor of Education (Primary) student and aims to lead ACU Brisbane into an inclusive, supporting and fulfilling future, with the McASA team helping to make 2015 the best year yet for everyone.
Canberra (Signadou) Student Association (SSA)
Sian Gwynn-Jones was elected unopposed to the position of 2015 Canberra (Signadou) Student Association President. Sian is a second year Bachelor of Nursing student. In 2015, Sian intends to introduce more activities for students on campus. One of her goals is to help build the sporting programs to enhance student and staff experiences on the Canberra campus.
Vice-President will be Katie Grubb, who would like to address issues students have raised in the past, particularly at of introducing new student clubs and societies. Katie is a first year Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Paramedicine student.
Joshua Gould was elected Treasurer. Joshua aims to help make students' experience more colourful and meaningful. Joshua is a first year Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Paramedicine student.
2015 Secretary will be Teegan Blakers who enjoys being a dedicated management committee member and loves to make changes to better the university experience for students. Teegan is a first year Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) student.
Melbourne Campus Student Association (MCSA)
Kirk Thompson was elected as the President of the Melbourne Campus Student Association. Kirk is a third year Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) student. Kirk plans to introduce new events and support new facilities for students. This includes a formal dinner with special guests, and more options for zip-up hoodies. He also hopes to have Foxtel TV introduced in the MCSA Student Lounge.
Sian Sharpe will be Vice-President. Sian is a third year Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts student. In 2015, Sian will focus on student input into SSAF priorities, more options for clubs and societies and more on-campus food options.
Secretary will be Elise Bone, who aims to work with the student body to ensure student life at ACU is enhanced so every student enjoys their time at ACU. Elise is a first year Bachelor of Education (Primary) student.
Melbourne Treasurer will be Dominic Scholtes, a second year Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science student and a national level swimmer. Dominic is looking forward to being an active member of the management team and being a voice for the students.
North Sydney (MacKillop) Student Association (MAKSA)
David Orr was elected as the 2015 North Sydney Campus Association President. David is a third year Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Global Studies student and he plans to focus on new services and events for both domestic and international students through ACUNSA and working with ACU management. He would also like to see compulsory lecture recordings and better online content, to explore economical options for healthy foods, and champion student participation in sport and events.
Vice-President will be John Ryan-Thomas. John hopes to make MAKSA a larger part of student life and encourage students to be involved in campus events and activities. John is a third year Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws student.
