Hear Dr Ken Setiawan from the University of Melbourne speak about human rights and the death penalty in Indonesia, as part of the National School of Arts' new research seminar series beginning next week
This year's revamped National School of Arts Research Seminar Series kicks off with a presentation by Dr Ken Setiawan.
Dr Ken Setiawan, a McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Melbourne's Asia Institute, will speak about the developing human rights situation in Indonesia, paying particular attention to the recent capital punishment debates under the new President, Joko "Jokowi" Widodo. Jokowi's stance, which contradicts Indonesia's earlier moratorium on capital punishment, raises the critical question of how his government will perceive rights and justice.
Please join us for this timely and important discussion about human rights and capital punishment in the Indonesian context.
