You’re invited to ACU’s Philosophy Seminar series. Come along to one of our sessions to find out more.
Every year ACU’s School of Philosophy hosts talks by visiting international academics, professional philosophers from universities from around Australia, ACU staff and postgraduate students as part of our Philosophy Seminar series.
Our seminars place an emphasis on exploration and constructive exchanges to advance the development of ideas. Philosophy is a discipline with wide application to almost all other areas of academic enquiry including psychology, linguistics, history, medicine, law, theology, art and economics - and this creates an opportunity for robust cross-discipline discussion and the exchange of ideas.
Philosophers working in analytic and continental fields are invited to present with topics chosen from the widest possible range. Topics we explore include History of Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Phenomenology, Ethics and Political Philosophy, Metaphysics and Epistemology, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science and Logic.
The School of Philosophy is delighted to announce these upcoming seminars:
*Abstract details are updated on the website as they become available.
Participation is welcome and available on all campuses via video conference. The seminars take place in a friendly and informal atmosphere (and after every presentation there is always ample time for Q&A).
We invite all interested staff to attend our seminars, held Fridays from 2.30 to 4pm.
Please check the website for further information details about upcoming seminars (including video conference details). You can also read about past seminars on the website.
