The ACU Art Collection continues to grow, with the recent installation of Rochelle Haley’s atmospheric works Flow - Blue, pink, black, white, 2017 and Flow - blue, indigo, lilac, 2017 at The Leadership Centre, Brisbane.
The rhythmic resin paintings have a dynamic presence in the space and complement the contemporary design of the executive venue in Brisbane’s CBD.
Caroline Field, ACU Art Curator, describes Haley as an emerging Australian artist who is concerned with the exploration of light, space, movement and reflective surfaces. Working with experimental drawing, painting, movement and performance practice, her current projects involve drawing, painting and dance to explore space structured around the sensation of the moving body.
Fergus Grealy, Manager of The Leadership Centre, is delighted with the invigorating artwork, saying: "It feels like they have always been there and I can’t imagine the space without them. It is a pleasure to see our guests enjoying the wonderful work".
Professor Jim Nyland, Associate Vice-Chancellor, Queensland noted: "Caroline has chosen two exceptional and inspiring pieces that lift and liberate the spirit of the ACU Leadership Centre and those who choose to spend time there."
