The new LEO (Learning Environment Online) guides for staff include support ranging from self-paced modules for the very new user to an easy A-Z list for the experienced user including how-to guides, case studies and other useful information to help academics get started.
The new LEO Guides provide useful ideas, examples and instructions for academics wanting to learn more about how to engage students and enhance their units in LEO. The guides are structured around key topics including getting started, assessments, communications, learning activities and learning materials.
Getting Started introduces staff to how to familiarise themselves with the LEO environment including navigation and their roles and responsibilities, while My Units takes you through the steps required to set up a unit in LEO by providing examples of best practice. The LEO Guides help you develop your units in the online environment, while at the same time developing your ability in using e-learning technologies.
The LEO Guides also provide links to all the learning technologies that are utilised at ACU to maximise student learning and engagement. These include text editor, ePortfolio, online Live Classroom, Lecture Capture, Video Streaming, a Content Management System and Text Matching through the Turnitin and creative commons.
There is a ‘help’ link available if further advice is needed from LEO support, eLearning staff in your faculty and Learning and Teaching Centre eLearning advisors.
