A new antivirus solution, Sophos Endpoint Security, is replacing Microsoft Forefront on all ACU owned and leased devices.
Sophos Endpoint Security brings one main benefit to protect both Windows and non-Windows devices against all known threats. Also, there will be a reduction in the number of updates being required with the new antivirus, resulting in minimal impact on system resources.
A planned implementation schedule has been prepared and installation on Staff desktop computers is currently in progress.
As a vast number of computers across the University are having this new antivirus installed, there may be some changes along the way to the proposed schedule. Please see the outline of the installation process across the campuses and be sure to check this page for any updates to the schedule.
You shouldn’t experience any interruption during the installation which will all take place automatically. You will then notice the blue shield appearing within the system tray on the right-hand side of your computer, indicating Sophos is up and running on your desktop.
