A new Protecting Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy has been developed, along with associated Procedures. All staff are advised to read the policy and to understand how the procedures may apply in their work situation. The documents also provide guidance for ACU students who interact with children and vulnerable adults.
New HR documents
Consistent with its Mission and values, the Australian Catholic University (ACU) is committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults. ACU’s commitment to providing a safe environment is articulated in the new Protecting Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy and Procedures
All staff are encouraged to read the policy and to understand how the procedures may apply to their work situation.
Broad consultation occurred to develop the Policy and Procedures during 2015, including consideration by the ACU Staff Consultative Committee (ACUSCC).
Following consultation, the Vice-Chancellor approved the following new documents, effective from 13 January 2016:
