Staff are advised that ACU has lodged its annual public report with the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).
Staff are advised that ACU lodged its annual public report with the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) on Thursday, 10 July 2014. Lodgment of this report ensures the University is meeting the requirements of the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 (WGEA Act).
Staff are invited to review the report on the Women at ACU web page. As staff members of ACU, you are invited to make comments on the report either to ACU at email@example.com or to WGEA. Please refer to WGEA’s guidelines on the process on their website www.wgea.gov.au.
ACU has been recognised as a leader in gender equality, receiving the highly regarded Gender Equality Employer of Choice Citation. There are high levels of representation of women across all levels of the University, including senior leadership and senior decision-making bodies. ACU also has a range of people management practices that support women and men, including up to 12 months paid parental leave and a range of options that allow staff to work flexibly.
In addition, ACU’s leadership supports Universities Australia Executive Women (UAEW) through its co-chair - Professor Marea Nicholson, AVC Sydney. UAEW provides career development workshops for women working in the higher education sector that are well used by the ACU community. The next UAEW workshop on 15 August entitled "Creative Executive Presence" will be hosted by ACU in Sydney. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org.
