Share the warmth, share the love. Donate a winter woolly today.
ACU Engagement and Campus Ministry are collecting winter woollies for ACU students and those in need in our local communities. Donation suggestions include coats, jackets, jumpers, beanies, cardigans, gloves, mittens and scarves.
Do you have an idea for a donation drive or community engagement initiative?
The Winter Woollies donation drive was proposed by Karina Patrick, a staff member in the School of Science. Karina has been collecting coats, recognising that many students arrive in Melbourne with ‘warm coats’ that are designed for very different climates to ours. She sought the support of ACU Engagement in making this a university-wide initiative as lots of people have spare coats, beanies, scarves etc and there are freezing people on and around all of our campuses (except maybe Brisbane 😉). Thank you Karina for the fantastic initiative and ensuring that we can share the ACU warmth with others (figuratively and literally).
If you have an idea for a community engagement initiative or donation drive we would love to collaborate. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how we can work together to bring your idea to life.
Recently ACU Engagement, together with the Properties and Facilities Directorate, had the privilege of delivering 90+ litres of long life milk to a Sydney charity, where they were very gratefully received. Thank you Carmel Yahl and the wonderful Properties and Facilities team for making this happen - and a big shout-out to our 2017 student intern, Jack Borg, who put together an extensive list of 'who needs what in our communities'. Staff and students working together to bring the #MissionAlive.
Facilities Services Officer David Pittard helps to deliver the donated milk.
