IT can assist you with your research projects and can help you to:
improve your research efficiency
access and use IT infrastructure that’s specifically designed for researchers to use, and often funded for researchers to use for free.
We have released our eResearch services on the IT Service Portal. We can offer you:
Research software assistance – advice, assistance and training in appropriate tools and software for research tasks.
Research data management assistance – to determine research data management needs and practices for research projects.
Research computing assistance – to determine what computational help is required for research projects.
eResearch consultancy – advice and support to ensure ACU researchers and research groups can conduct research efficiently and and collaboratively through infrastructure, data storage and specialist software.
By adding these services to the Portal, we are improving:
visibility of the services we offer, this will help researchers to understand there is assistance for things they didn't even know existed
clarity over how we work with and support researchers across ACU to optimise ACU’s research outcomes by providing tailored client based IT solutions.
We recognise that research projects all differ as to their requirements and needs.
Aidan Wilson, our IT Relationship Manager and eResearch Analyst, based in Sydney provides specialist support and advice to ACU’s researchers, Research Institutes, and the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research.
Aidan works closely with client groups to help determine the right research approach, understand their requirements and project needs and what type of software and hardware is right for a project.
We recommend contacting Aidan to discuss your research or submitting a request on the IT Service Portal.
