The Learning and Teaching Centre (LTC) is one of the five directorates within the Students, Learning and Teaching Portfolio. LTC aims to enhance the learning and teaching experiences of our community through University-wide initiatives in education, notably in the use of technology for course delivery and in student engagement in learning. The directorate is led by Professor Kevin Ashford-Rowe and LTC staff are located across our ACU campuses.
LTC leads and/or supports a number of core functions of ACU, in particular those listed below:
ACU Learning for Life facilitates a culture of learning and teaching excellence within a community that reflects on its identity and mission to create distinctive ACU graduates. This year, in addition to other projects, ACU Learning for Life has progressed several strategic initiatives to address specific objectives and support the achievement of ongoing excellence in learning and teaching. Some of these initiatives include developing an ACU Microcredentialing Framework, enhancing support for sessional staff, and the development and implementation of a national approach to curriculum delivery.
LTC held ACU’s fifth Learning and Teaching Conference at the MacKillop Campus in North Sydney last month. The conference was a huge success and over 300 staff from across the University joined us for this event. The conference program clearly demonstrated the ways our staff are rising to the challenges of excellence in teaching with the outstanding presentations, academic posters and Learning for Life technology showcases.
