On Thursday 4th November a group of ACU students and staff gathered at the North Sydney campus to officially launch the ACU Wired radio program in North Sydney.

ACU Wired is a radio station run by the students of ACU and is a medium of communication that links the six ACU campuses. ACU Wired allows students to have creativity in discussion and debate, reinforcing the relationships between campuses and the national identity that ACU is.

The official launch started with a video about ACU Wired, a welcoming by Professor Marea Nicholson and a talk by the President and Manager of ACU Wired. Professor Anne Cummins. Steve Lawrence from Identity and Mission and Andrew Beiers also spoke to officially thank and welcome those involved in the exciting new project.

The ribbon to the new station was cut by Marea and a blessing by Fr. Anthony Casamento and Ms Carmel Shepherd was performed.

After the official speeches were concluded the crowd was entrained by ‘The big event’ winner Malia Puna with her acoustic guitar and melodic singing.

Student and current Manager of ACU Wired Kate-Lynd Sinatambou was thrilled about the official launch after many years of hard work being put into the project by students of ACU. Kate-Lynd said that ACU Wired is “a great opportunity to be heard as a campus to express our ideas and values. North Sydney has a really good vibe. We are all behind it and excited about going live”
