ACU is continuously improving our Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) with the aim of eliminating work-related injury and illness, meeting compliance standards and supporting health, safety and wellbeing. These and other enhancements are informed by the actions that are taken by our organisational units to implement our WHSMS and manage risk.

ACU regularly reports on and applies learnings from workplace incidents. We provide training and resources to ensure that everyone knows how to apply safe systems of work and we provide return-to-work programs that support injured or ill staff members.

We consult with staff members and their representatives, ACU’s contractors, students and others about work health and safety issues and risks. Staff also participate in WHS inspections and assess, and manage WHS risk in collaboration with their Nominated Supervisors.
