A message from Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Hayden Ramsay:
ACU’s newest directorate, Student Experience, commenced operation in January as part of the newly formed Education portfolio.
The Student Experience Directorate brings together student services and amenities from a number of areas and encompasses:
We are taking the opportunity to review how we provide our students with services in several of these areas, with an eye to building on strong foundations already in practice.
The directorate aims to deliver an holistic approach to supporting students where they most need us, and to promote active engagement in university life. Student Experience staff work closely with students, and collaboratively across multiples areas of the university, including with faculties and schools, campus ministry, and other directorates, to ensure that services meet requirements and complement the excellent work already being performed by other colleagues.
On leading the team Director, Student Experience Georgina Ledvinka, says she is thrilled to play a pivotal role in supporting students to thrive and succeed – academically, culturally, ethically and socially.
”It is an exciting time for ACU to demonstrate its commitment to student experience through the creation of this new directorate. As we know, the Higher Education Accord Recommendations and related initiatives such as the new Support for Students Policy bring a spotlight on students, and their experience of higher education.”
If you would like to like to find out more about the new directorate and how it supports students to thrive, please contact Director Georgina Ledvinka or Associate Director Sarah Rose.
