The lack of it can result in disruptive conflict, poor performance and compromised results. Join this workshop to uncover key strategies for optimal team cohesion and the role you play in it.

Writing Effective Emails

Thursday 16 May, 10.30am-12pm

Audience: all staff
Do you find that you invest a lot of time writing emails, and don’t get the results you need? Writing emails is a basic skill that we all need, yet we are rarely taught.
In this virtual workshop, you will be present a structured approach to writing emails. You’ll be guided through how to plan, organise and write concise emails, to ensure that your readers can easily grasp the content and act on it.

Role of Chair

Monday 20 May, 1.30pm-2.50pm

Audience: Hiring managers/supervisors
To chair recruitment interviews at ACU you must equip yourself with the knowledge to ensure you're following the right procedure and protocols throughout the recruitment process. The responsibilities of a chair is different to those on an interview panel member. If you're looking to prepare yourself to recruit for continuing or fixed term staff, you must first complete the Role of Chair training. In this 80-minute session, you will gain a high-level understanding of the end-to-end recruitment process and your responsibilities as a Chair.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness

Monday 27 May, 9.30am-11.30am

Audience: All staff
This program is for anyone looking to develop a greater understanding of the importance of kinship and community in the everyday life of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students. This program will be particularly useful for staff who are interacting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, colleagues and community.

Flourishing Through Mission

Tuesday 28 May, 10am-11am

Audience: All staff
This interactive virtual workshop provides an opportunity for staff to understand and participate in a discussion about the ACU mission, its importance, it aligns with your work at ACU, and information about ACU’s identity as a Catholic university.
