Folder in resource typesHow to add a Folder to your unit

  1. Click 'Turn editing on'

  3. From the options provided click on 'Folder' and then click on 'Add'.
  4. Give your Folder a meaningful name. The name is what will be displayed in your LEO unit as a link that students will click to access the Files you put into the Folder.
  5. You can now click 'Save and return to unit' and add your files later, or follow the next steps to begin adding files to your Folder now.

How to add files to your Folder

Files are added to the Content field in your Folder settings:

  1. You can 'drag and drop' your Files from your Explorer window (Windows) or Finder window (Mac) into this area and they will be uploaded into the Folder automatically:
A file being dropped into the content area
  2. You can also click on the 'Add File' button and choose the Upload File option to find a files on your computer or device to upload:
The Add File and subsequent Upload File links
  3. Remember to click 'Save and return to unit' when you are done.

Your Folder will now be displayed as a link in your LEO unit.

You can upload several files at a time by dragging and dropping multiple selected files into the content area.

You can use the 'Create Folder' button in the Content area of your Folder settings to create sub-folders within your Folder and organise your files if you wish.

If you are going to be reusing the files contained in your Folder in multiple LEO units, you may want to consider storing your files in an item in Equella (LEO Content), rather than uploading the same content multiple times. Storing your files in Equella allows you to update them in a single location, which allows you to update them in one location rather than several if you need to.
