Our Results

On 1 October 2020 the University released a survey all staff (continuing, fixed term, casual and sessional) seeking feedback on how ACU had responded, progressed and provided supported throughout the year. Enabling the University to better understand more about the impact of the pandemic on staff, you and the university and consider further support and areas of improvement.

The COVID-19 Check In Survey was developed by the Voice Project, an external company, and the survey has been used by a number of other Australian universities. Voice Project are also the company, that has assisted the university with the 2019 myVoice Staff Engagement Survey.

Collectively 1107 staff participated in the survey.

In terms of overall wellbeing staff responded favourably with 70% of participants indicating they felt well during this time.  Wellbeing reflecting the emotional wellness of staff, their level of stress and sense of safety.

Next Steps

Based on staff responses to the survey questions and a richness of staff response in the open-ended questions a number of theme areas have been identified.  These theme areas are:

  • Flexibility;
  • Campus Safety;
  • Working Remotely; and
  • Wellbeing.

Staff can expect to see additional advice from the University on each of these areas during the remainder of the year and into 2021.
