Recycle right!

Place these items in ACU recycling bins (the bins with the yellow sticker):

• Glass bottles and jars
• Plastic bottles, milk and juice cartons
• Aluminium and steel cans
• Paper (if there is no paper recycling box nearby)
• Plastic food containers (just scrape any scraps into the landfill bins)

Place these items in the ACU paper recycling bins or recycling bin:

• Sheets of paper (take any staples out first)
• Cardboard
• Newspaper

Place these items in the ACU landfill bins (the bins with the red sticker):

• Disposable coffee cups
• Food wrappers
• Broken bottles and broken ceramic cups, mugs and plates
• Plastic bags and plastic wrap
• Paper towels, whether from bathrooms or kitchens
• Any item labelled ‘Biodegradable’. Biodegradable items cannot be composted or recycled. They must always be put in landfill.

Place these items in the ACU food waste bins (the bins with the white sticker):

All types of food:

• Vegetables
• Fruit
• Meat
• Fish
• Egg shells

But do not place any packaging into the food waste bins, even if the packaging is labelled biodegradable.
