ACU will be moving to an annual rolled timetable in 2021. The timetable for all 2021 teaching periods will be published to staff and students in October 2020.

Why are we moving to an annual rolled timetable?

The decision to move to an annual rolled timetable has been reached after an extensive consultation period.

  • An annual timetable will give students and staff the opportunity to plan further ahead.
  • Bringing the publication of the timetable forward to align with the re-enrolment period will provided a more seamless experience for students and encourage early re-enrolment for the full year.
  • Timetable data collection will be concentrated into a single streamlined annual period.

Timetable Data Collection

Data collection for all 2021 teaching periods will take place between 8 June and 10 July. We understand there might be some things that will be subject to change at this time. Please provide the best information that you have available and let the Timetabling team know of any changes.

As this year's timetable will form the foundation of the 2021 timetable, the only data we need is:

  • will existing units be running in 2021
  • expected enrolment numbers
  • new units
  • units offered on alternating year cycles

At this stage, we do not need to know teaching staff details. Staffing information will be collected later in the year.

Draft timetable

The draft timetable will be open to staff from 10 August to 2 October. This is your opportunity to request changes to the timetable to make sure that it meets the needs of your students and staff.

Key dates

WDC opens (Timetable data collection) 8 June–10 July
Draft timetable released to staff 10 August–2 October
2021 timetable published 5 October
Allocate+ preferences open to students 12 October–23 November
Personalised timetables released to students From 30 November

We will also be providing dedicated information and training sessions to TLOs to support them through this transition.
