About the Session
Effective performance management and accountability are essential to fostering excellence, collaboration, and engagement across academic teams and organisational units. This session provides higher education leaders/supervisors and administrators with practical tools and techniques to set clear expectations, deliver constructive feedback, and inspire accountability in ways that support and motivate their colleagues.
Participants will explore strategies to align individual and team efforts with wider University goals, address performance challenges proactively, and create an environment where continuous learning and improvement thrive.
Through interactive discussions and practical resources tailored to higher education settings, participants will build the confidence to navigate complex performance issues, reinforce positive contributions, and enhance trust and collaboration within their academic communities.

These workshops are available to all staff. They are not mandatory for casual staff.
Casual staff must obtain prior approval from their supervisor or manager to attend the training. For casual Academic staff such approval is required from the National Head of School or nominated supervisor (consistent with point 23. of the Employment of Sessional Academic Staff Policy)
The Faculty or Unit is responsible for paying the casual staff member for the time while they attend any non-mandatory professional development.
