About the Session

In this 2 half-day workshop, a range of topics will be covered including how common mental health issues are, signs and symptoms of different mental health problems, how to respond if you are concerned for someone, as well as how to respond in a range of mental health emergency situations such as if someone is having a panic attack, a psychotic episode, or if they are contemplating suicide. Please note this workshop is completed over 2 half-days - attendance on both days is mandatory.

  • Understand mental disorder and how it is caused;
  • Explore the 4 major types of mental illness;
  • Identify potential triggers;
  • Notice signs and symptoms;
  • Approach a distressed person and connect them with the support they need;
  • Get professional help.
