Academic promotion at ACU is a structured process through which academic staff demonstrate achievement for their current level against defined criteria and standards. Applications are assessed holistically across relevant areas of academic work, with emphasis on the quality, impact and leadership of contribution.
The academic promotion process is governed by University policy and procedures that align with the Enterprise Agreement. It is peer‑reviewed and underpinned by fairness, transparency and consistency, with decisions taking account of career context and achievement relative to opportunity, recognising diverse pathways, roles and circumstances.
