The risk profile of research applications determines the review process each application will be allocated to, and the associated timeframes for submission and review. Chapter 2.1 in the National Statement on Ethical Research in Humans (2023) provides guidance on the assessment of risk. Applications for Higher risk research will be reviewed by the Human Research Ethics Committee at it's next meeting.
