An employee who serves in the Australian Defence Force Reserves will be granted up to ten (10) days leave in each calendar year for the purposes of deployment, annual training, drill parade, attendance at a school and/or class or course of instruction and this leave is not cumulative.
In addition to sub-clause 5.7(a) an employee is entitled to a further twelve (12) weeks leave per calendar year subject to a successful application to the Federal Government’s Employer Support Payment scheme (ESPS).
The University will not hinder or prevent an employee from undertaking defence service and the training necessary to prepare them for service.
If the employee requires additional leave for Defence Force Reserves purposes, the employee may access a period of unpaid leave. An employee may elect to use their accrued Annual Leave or Long Service Leave instead of, or in combination with, a period of unpaid Australian Defence Force Reserves Leave.
