Understanding the University Sector
This workshop will give you the map to navigate the Higher Education sector terrain and build bridges with your academic and professional colleagues. A brief history of higher education in Australia will set the scene for the day. The session will explore the governance and management structure of universities; the university workforce, and the differences between professional and academic staff (role and progression) and explore current policy issues the high education sector is facing including the reregistration of universities as self-accrediting providers.
