In alignment with ACU's mission, vision, and strategic priorities, the University is committed to delivering education and research of the highest quality. This commitment is supported by a quality assurance program that drives continuous improvement through the PIRI Model (Plan - Implement - Review - Improve).

The assurance program includes a comprehensive review and internal audit program combined with risk identification, that provides the knowledge and evidence required to drive improvements across the University. As a higher education provider in Australia, ACU complies with the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF) which is administered by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). ACU's registration with TEQSA is due for renewal in July 2025. Staff can access detailed information about TEQSA and the renewal process on the TEQSA site.

Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA):

TEQSA is an independent statutory authority established in 2011 to regulate and assure the quality of Australia's higher education sector. It registers and evaluates higher education providers against the HESF, specifically the Threshold Standards, which all providers must meet to remain accredited within Australia's higher education system. ACU's registration was renewed by TEQSA for the maximum of seven years, valid until 30 July 2022 and extended to 30 July 2025.

Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF):

The HESF (Threshold Standards) 2021 applies to all registered higher education providers in Australia. To ensure compliance, ACU developed Evidence Collection Test reports to measure ACU's standing against the Sector Standards, highlight risks and propose interventions. This plan will transition into a more regular and agile Self-Assurance Report in 2025 to maintain compliance throughout ACU's registration term with TEQSA.

Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS):

The Global Engagement (GE) portfolio has responsibility for Compliance with the ESOS Act 2000 and the accompanying National Code. A Compliance Team maintain the University's CRICOS registration and monitor student enrolments and progression. ESOS requirements are embedded in the University's course approvals and academic regulations. GE is represented on all relevant university committees.
