This issue as always we take a look at some of the fascinating research being carried out at ACU. Not only is this research impressive in its originality, but the results will go directly towards bettering our communities. You can read about the benefits of school gardens, body image pressure amongpreadolescent children, the reality of professional tennis, and the causes of radicalisation.
Once again our staff and student achievements are too many to note, but you can read student Angie Sassano’s award-winning essay on black lives in post-race America, find out how ACU’s Equity Pathways office is opening doors to higher education, and learn about Dr Rhonda Faragher’s address at United Nations Headquarters.
Perhaps most importantly this issue, we look at ACU reaching a very special milestone in 2015 – 25 years of people, learning, and achievements that continue to bring about real change in our communities.
Since its inception ACU has grown to become Australia’s leading Catholic university, with more than 30,000 students from 90 countries, 2,033 highly qualified staff, seven campuses and a study centre in Rome, Italy.
This anniversary year we are celebrating our collective achievements with an exciting program of events and activities on all ACU campuses – everything from poetry and composition competitions, to seminars, book launches, and the official anniversary mass and dinner.
We hope you enjoy reading Insight.
