Changes to EBSCOhost platform and impacts to users

On 24 June ACU will transition to the new EBSCOhost. This will result in a new look and feel across some of our most popular databases including Medline, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Business Source Complete, ERIC and Education Source Complete.

While the changes will bring a more intuitive experience, you should be aware that some existing features will be impacted and may require action from you.

What are the impacts?

  • Saved data in 'My Custom' folders will not migrate to the new interface.
  • Search alerts and journal alerts will not migrate.
  • Persistent links to searches will not migrate.
  • The full search history for multi-line saved searches may not migrate.

What do I need to do?

  • Move saved searches and saved items from custom folders into MyFolder. See below for how to do this.
  • We also recommended that saved searches are backed up by copying and pasting into a separate document, particularly if they are needed for future reference.
  • Recreate your search alerts and journal alerts in the new interface, then delete them from the classic interface to avoid duplication. See below for how to do this.
