On Friday 5 June, Student Administration (Melbourne) hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea to help raise vital funds for cancer research and support services.
The event was in honour of ACU colleague and friend Doreen Bonnici who passed away in 2011. Doreen was manager of Enrollments, Fees and Scholarships, Student Administration and worked at ACU for 17 years.
Doreen's daughter, Lisa, also works in Enrollments, Fees and Scholarships, Student Administration and worked along side her mother for seven years.
Lisa was part of the team that help organise the event. "I am part of the Student Administration Community Engagement Committee. This committee has been running over the last couple of years, undertaking local initiatives that are important to our team. The committee this year is Jasmin Fiske, Flora Shek, Shireen Prasad and myself. We usually undertake about 3 -4 projects per year, and our first was the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
The committee would like to thank everyone who attended - your generosity was overwhelming. With your help we raised far in excess of our 2014 total - $1470 for the Cancer Council!
If you were unable to attend our event and would like to make a difference, please visit our fundraising page
Congratulations to our raffle winners and those who snapped up some gems in the silent auction!
