Introduction to Budgeting

Obtain an overview of the ACU Budget Allocation Process. Understand key terminology i.e. Revenue Budget, Revenue Distribution, Expense Budget, Carry Forwards and Forecasting.

Introduction to Finance Part 1

Develop knowledge of the ACU Cost Code Structure - The Chart of Accounts, Cost Centres and Project Codes. Gain a sound understanding of the Finance Administration procedures e.g. Banking, Debtor Invoice Requisitioning.

Introduction to Finance Part 2

Prerequisite – Introduction to Finance Part 1
Gain sound comprehension of claim reimbursement of work related expenses.  Learn the ACU Purchase Card coding and acquittal process including compliance requirements.  Understand travel procedures at ACU.

Research Administration

Prerequisite – Introduction to Finance Part 1 & Part 2
Understand the Financial Obligations of the Researcher Pre and Post Grant Award.  To be conducted in conjunction with Office of DVC Research.

GST/FBT/Insurance

Prerequisite – Introduction to Finance Part 1 & Part 2
Learn about GST (Good Service Tax) and FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) and its implications on reporting.  Become aware of the University’s Insurance coverage for University approved activities.

Reporting

An interactive workshop on how to use Reporting Centre to view transactions.
