IHA Director's WHO appointment

Professor Marita McCabe, Director of the Institute for Health and Ageing, was recently invited to be part of the ICD-11 Working Group on the Classification of Sexual Disorders and Sexual Health.

The first meeting of the Working Group was held in Minneapolis, USA in May over two days.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) departments of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (MSD) and Reproductive Health and Research (RHR) appointed this Working Group in the context of the revision of the International Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems (ICD-10) which is currently underway.

The Working Group will report jointly to the International Advisory Groups for Revision of ICD-10 Mental and Behavioural Disorders and the International Advisory Group for Reproductive Health.

The Working Group has been appointed for a two-year period, and is expected to substantially complete its work within this period.
