Be proactive in planning your professional development in 2017 by browsing the upcoming courses provided by ACU units such as HR, Learning and Teaching, Research, Finance and Student Administration. You can view these on the ACU training website at any time, or look out for the listings in the Staff Bulletin every Tuesday.
You can also browse the yearly professional development calendar outlining the courses offered by HR – this program has been designed to build capabilities across ACU by supporting the development of individual, team and leadership abilities. The HR Professional Development Calendar outlines the ACU Capability Development Framework competencies addressed in the training programs. Remember to discuss your professional development plans with your supervisor. For example, conversations during the annual Performance Review and Planning (PRP) process can provide an opportunity to reflect on your strengths and consider areas for potential development.
Register for Training
To register for training, firstly speak with your supervisor to ensure the training supports organisational unit needs and/or your agreed development plan. If your supervisor supports your attendance register via Staff Connect. (Please note, your registration will only be confirmed once your nominated supervisor has approved the request in Staff Connect).
Self-paced online learning with Lynda.com
Taking charge of your professional development and growth is not just about attending courses. Staff also have the opportunity to undertake self-paced online learning. The University subscribes to an online training library Lynda.com which provides ACU staff 24/7 access to thousands of high quality instructional videos. These videos are presented by industry experts on a range of topics including software, creative and business skills.
To browse the library and watch the videos simply log in to Lynda.com with your ACU staff username and password.
