Workplace Relations Essentials workshop

This workshop introduces managers and supervisors to the industrial relations environment within a higher education sector context, including underlying legal concepts, the various industrial instruments and the practical application of both through policy and actions in the workplace.

A key focus will be on how managers and supervisors can engage in “the difficult conversations".

This workshop will be delivered as a full day workshop and is aimed at managers/supervisors who need to understand the legal framework and rationale that informs people management practice at ACU.

The workshop will cover:

  • An overview of the industrial legislation framework
  • The employment relationship
  • The employment contract
  • Policies and procedures
  • Managing ill health and injury
  • Managing performance, misconduct and serious misconduct issues
