ACU Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Craven launched the WIL@ACU website in Canberra in February.
ACU Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Greg Craven launched ACU’s national Work Integrated Learning website on Monday 27 February at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.
The new website will provide a central point of information and support relating to Work Integrated Learning for Faculty of Education and Arts and Faculty of Health Sciences students, staff, and University partners, including hospitals, education centres and schools.
“Work Integrated Learning is such an important and invaluable learning experience for so many of our students,” Professor Craven said.
“ACU is currently the largest provider of nurses and teachers in Australia, with Work Integrated Learning being such a critical component of these degrees.”
“This new website will support our staff to provide a high level of service and support to our students and University partners through their Work Integrated Learning journey,” Professor Craven said.
Professor Craven was joined at the launch by Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts, Professor Tania Aspland who hosted the event, and Director of Learning and Teaching, Professor Kevin Ashford-Rowe who also addressed the guests.
Work Integrated Learning allows students to connect learning with practice of work through placement, professional experience, clinical education and internships.
The website provides a central entry point for Faculty of Education and Arts, and Faculty of Health Sciences staff, students and partners looking for information to assist in the planning of and execution of placements with other faculties joining in soon.
Features of the new website include tailored checklists, tools and forms required to plan and execute placements, a help centre and video case studies from students and partners.
