Melbourne Campus development update

ACU has received Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) approval for construction of a new building at our Melbourne Campus.

Development of the new building will support continued growth for the University over the next five to ten years.

It will see the current ground level carpark at the corner of Napier Street and Victoria Parade transformed into a 12-storey and 20,000sqm teaching, learning and research space.

Alongside teaching space, the new building will also provide underground parking for a maximum of 270 vehicles and increased space for student collaboration and recreation.

The new building will also allow more ACU staff to be accommodated on campus, rather than in leased offices.

Subject to further approvals by Yarra City Council and Heritage Council, ACU anticipates that construction of the new building to commence mid-2018.

The building is expected to be completed by March 2021.

ACU has consulted widely with the surrounding community and the Yarra City Council throughout the building design process.

Please visit the Melbourne Campus development webpage for more information about the project.
