Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Craven has signed up to be a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Pay Equity Ambassador, recognizing his role in tackling pay inequities.
In taking on the role, Professor Craven joins a network of CEOs, heads of departments and directors in the public and private sector, who are committed to gender equality and pay equity.
ACU has a strong commitment to gender equality, evidenced through its Gender Equality Strategy 2015-2020 (GES).
Professor Craven said he was dedicated to achieving the goals of the GES, which include working to achieve gender pay equity at ACU and contributing to the conversation about this important issue in the broader community.
“Pay equity is a key driver of our Gender Equality Strategy and we all have a role to play in tackling pay inequity,” Professor Craven said.
“As a Pay Equity Ambassador, I join a group of directors, heads of departments and CEOs from a broad range of organisations who have agreed to undertake a pay gap analysis and take action to correct pay inequities.”
Pay Equity Ambassadors sign the WGEA’s Pay Equity Pledge and help to create change by:
For the past five years, the WGEA has also recognised ACU as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.
The citation recognises that the University has met stringent standards through its commitment to creating equal opportunities for women and men in the workplace.
