Meeting the Challenge

A new website has been created to provide staff with information about the changes ACU is making in response to the Commonwealth Government’s higher education funding cuts.

Earlier this year the Vice-Chancellor outlined the 10 principles that underpin the actions the University must take to ensure it has a sustainable financial future and continues to operate as a respected University.

During the Vice-Chancellor’s recent Staff Talks, the Vice-Chancellor reinforced that all areas of the University will be impacted by the changes and all allocated budgets have been reduced.

Many staff had questions during the Staff Talks about specific changes that are occurring across the University. To ensure all staff can learn about the changes that are being made, a new website has been created.

The Meeting the Challenge website features a range of information and will provide you with:

  • A broad understanding about why we are making changes
  • Information about the support services available to you
  • An overview of the change management process
  • Specific information about changes affecting the workforce size or operations and services
  • Information about the University’s redeployment process
  • Information on how you can provide feedback.

The Vice-Chancellor will also be regularly communicating with staff about how the University is positioned for the future, and when we achieve key milestones.

These milestones include the outcomes of the budget response monitored by the Budget Advisory Committee and the newly established University Character Taskforce.
