ACU and Blanchard International Self-Leadership Program

Would you like to develop your self-awareness, improve your resilience and learn about the most taught leadership model globally over the past 30 years?

ACU has partnered with Blanchard International to deliver a pilot of the Blanchard ‘Self Leadership’ program. Places are strictly limited to 18 participants per workshop so please register early to avoid missing out on this professional development opportunity.

What will you gain from attending this workshop?

The Blanchard Self Leadership Program is aligned to the ACU Capability Development Framework Competencies, ‘Lead Self’ and ‘Lead Others’. Participants attending this workshop will develop skills in the following key concepts:

  • Situational Leadership ® II Model - learn the most taught leadership model globally over the past 30 years and learn how to partner with your manager to develop goals, diagnose your development level and then ask for the leadership style you need to succeed;
  • Assumed Constraints - learn to recognise those perceived barriers we can have and how to make them into positive commitments;
  • Points of Power - learn the five sources of power at work you have and how each can be activated to help achieve your goals and experience greater autonomy and competence;
  • Proactive Conversations - learn how to seek the direction and support you need; learn how to proactively ask your manager for the leadership style you need to succeed.

By attending this program, you will have access to:

  • The SLII® App  - a smartphone app that helps learners diagnose their development level for a goal/task and understand how to ask for the leadership style that you need to succeed;
  • Self-Leadership Toolkits - toolkits available to allow the skills learned to be implemented with your manager.

Who should attend?

  • This program is suitable for staff at CDF Level 1 (All Staff) and Level 2 (Line and Middle)

How do I register?

Please register via Staff Connect no later than two weeks prior to the workshop.

Please note that if you participate in this program your manager will be requested to complete a feedback survey before you attend the program and approximately three months after you attend the program.  All responses will be sent to Blanchard International, all individual responses will remain confidential from your colleagues, manager and the University.  Blanchard will only provide aggregate responses to the Capabilities and Development Unit to support the evaluation of the program.
