Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to share with you some exciting updates from my Portfolio.
As at 5 July, the University has exceeded its 2018 enrolment targets by 0.2% or 42 EFTSL with mid-year TAC offers still ongoing and International enrolments to commence on 23 July. Total load represents a growth of 0.7% or 188 EFTSL from load achieved this time last year.
This result is very pleasing, considering the more constrained environment ACU is now operating.
The Enrolment Planning process is now underway to develop Enrolment Plan 2019-2024. ACU will maintain CSP targets within the 2018 levels, but will work towards increasing enrolments in other funding sources. The new enrolment plan is set to be completed by end of August 2018.
Over the Italian summer period, ACU is delivering a total of eight academic units at the Rome Campus with 184 students and 16 academics participating. Student participation has increased by 23% from the same period last year.
Some of our students and staff had the opportunity to meet the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove at our Rome Campus on 25 June as part of his official visit to the Vatican. The Governor-General gave a brief address before touring the campus and having the opportunity to meet and hear the experience of our students.
With the growing number of academic programs in Rome, two new Student Life staff have joined ACU to provide more comprehensive assistance for non-academic student management at the Campus including accommodation, spiritual and pastoral care, student safety and well-being, and other student life activities. Please join me in welcoming to the ACU community our new Student Life Coordinator Ms Marina Kavalirek and Student Life Assistant Ms Angela Marino.
Rome Campus Student Life Coordinator Ms Marina Kavalirek and Student Life Assistant Ms Angela Marino with Acting Director Dr Claudio Betti.
Planning is well underway for ACU’s 2019 academic programs and research seminars in Rome
