Proposed ACU Staff Enterprise Agreement: signed and lodged

The proposed ACU Staff Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 has now been signed by all parties and ACU has applied to the Fair Work Commission (the Commission) for approval of the Agreement.

Now that the Agreement has been submitted, the Commission, when considering the Agreement, will satisfy itself that the requirements of the Fair Work Act (2009) have been met and that ACU staff covered by the Agreement will be ‘better off overall’ than they would be compared to the relevant modern awards.

A hearing may be scheduled before the Commission for ACU to answer any questions about the Agreement. Based on the experience of other universities, the approval process can take three months or more.

Staff will be advised when the Agreement has been approved. In the meantime, preparations for implementation of the Agreement are underway.
