Supporting students with disabilities during online learning

The move to online learning may pose some additional challenges for ACU students, particularly those with disabilities, who may require additional adjustments.

Regardless of whether students have registered for disability support and have an active Education Inclusion Plan (EIP), the different nature of the online learning method may raise concerns with some students.

In the first instance, students who have concerns should contact the relevant lecturer-in-charge (LIC) to discuss their needs, either in relation to their EIP adjustments or otherwise.

A great amount of flexibility should be considered in relation to these requests.

If, for example, extensions have been approved for assessment tasks for all students, please consider additional applications for extension (where provided in EIPs) from the new due date.

If students or lecturers have further questions, campus disability advisors and the senior disability advisor are available for consultation.

Contact details are available on the Disability Support webpage.
