Are you a teaching academic at ACU? Enhance your understanding of teaching and learning by undertaking the new microcredential version of Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (GCHE), free for ACU staff.

Here are some of the reasons why you should complete the GCHE:

• Support for academics – ACU wants to help you be the most effective and efficient educator you can be.
  
  
• No tuition fees and you may be given a 50 hour workload allocation – Tuition fees for the GCHE are waived for all eligible ACU staff (including sessionals). This means you’ll earn a valuable qualification without paying any fees – a substantial saving on a worthwhile investment in your career. Teaching-focused academics who undertake the GCHE will also be allocated 50 hours workload per unit.
  
  
• The GCHE is valuable for anyone teaching in a university – The GCHE will help you understand education theory as it applies in the university setting, building on your existing knowledge and skills. The GCHE at ACU also covers our mission and Catholic identity, elevating your teaching capability.
  
  
• You’ll develop greater confidence as a teacher – Completing the GCHE puts you more firmly in command of the choices and decisions you make about how you undertake your teaching role. • GCHE students report good outcomes – Research has shown that 82 per cent of ACU’s GCHE students agreed the course helped them further develop as a teacher, while 72 per cent agreed that their participation in the GCHE positively influenced their teaching practise.
